Process Post #7

BY MADELINE TAYLOR

It’s far too simple to trust the first news that appears on our screens in today’s information-rich society. These days, it can be challenging to properly educate and enlighten oneself because big media outlets have a great deal of power and frequently shape stories to fit their ideals, views, and falsehoods. Building strong critical thinking abilities is essential to halting the spread of false information. People should use critical thinking, fact-check material, take into account opposing viewpoints, and depend on reliable sources. Education in media literacy may also make people more informed consumers of digital material and better able to spot and dispel false information. What I constantly need to remind myself is that what we see online is often a false narrative. People want to be perceived in a certain way online and will only post content that can benefit them. When I was creating my blog I wanted to create an authentic environment where people went’t worried about consuming false information. I want to be accurately represented and never give off a false persona of my life.
